We spent our first Easter 'on the road' in Millicent South Australia. Good friday consisted of Sam creating hot cross buns from scratch (thinking that they would last until easter sunday!)
We used out cast iron pot to rise the yeast and bread in… and since it was a cool day I (tara) thought it was a smart idea that our car would be the perfect 'warm place' to raise the bread - and it worked!

The buns didn't even last long enough to take a picture!

GRATEFUL MOMENT!

As we travel we met so many people and one thing that I love the most about living the way that we do is that our children are exposed to all sorts of people - different nationalities etc. This one day Charlotte wanted us to read her a book but we were both pre-occupied so she took the initiative to ask someone (that she obviously trusted). She asked a french man to read her Dora the Explorer book to her and he said that he doesn't speak much english so Sam suggested that he read it in French… and so he did…. and charlotte LOVED it! Cam cam away from it with her eyes bright with new inspiration! I love that!
Easter Saturday

We spent Easter saturday (with a new friend) exploring Mt Gambier which has some A-mazing volcanic history and great scenery.

Check out the 'Blue Lake' - it really is that blue (from the limestone apparently!)
PLAY TIME!

Our friend then lead us to a lake and playground up the hill from the Blue Lake and we just couldn't resist a play!
check out this funny video of Tate doing chin ups… he really knows how! ;-)
LOVE THOSE KINDA DAYZZZZ

We love those kinda days where we allow room for unpredictable activities…. basically it's exploring! :-)

We found a Tower to explore… Wasn't expecting it to be a steep incline all the way up….
But it was worth the hike!
The history with the tower was interesting but more so was the old live volcano that used to live
Magic in the Centre of Town

We then headed into the centre of town as we heard of the 'sinkhole' right in the middle of the town… so we just HAD to experience this!

We came across some interesting sculptures before exploring the sinkhole
The entrance into the sinkhole 'cave gardens' was magical!
The history of the cave gardens is also amazing and what a great feature for the centre of a town!
Our Friend then told us of another sinkhole close by that he just knew we would love to explore.

We have Never have seen beauty like this!

The Umpherston Sinkhole…. OH MY GOD! It truly was something I never imagined to have experienced…there was something truly amazing about it…. not only the size…

I Never have seen beauty like this!

The ulphenton Sinkhole…. OH MY GOD! It truly was something I never imagined to have experienced…there was something truly amazing about it…. not only the size…
But the pure beauty of the green-ness and the chance to open our minds to something that mother nature herself has created and ENJOY it!
The kids had such a great time running through the gardens (which reminded me a bit of Alice in Wonderland) and smelling beautiful flowers.
There's only way way to finish a day like this…
We heard of the Tantanoola tiger…. and we read the 'many' stories about how it all came about, so of course we were curious so we headed to the town of Tantanoola tiger to see this so call 'Tiger'…. we got there, and saw this
We stood with beers and ciders in hands discussing whether or not this really was a tiger…. our theory is that its a wild dog with a VERY interesting story!
An Easter we will NEVER forget!

Easter Sunday we planned to do an easter egg hunt with the kiddies and give them their other chocolate that we got for them. When we woke we had this greet us outside
Random I know. The caravan Park had gifted us a bunch of chocolate eggs and an Asian lady camped next to us (who was a fruit picker in the area) gifted us a bag of THE most DELICIOUS apple ever!

We where sooooooo grateful for these beautiful gifts!
BUT WAIT THERES MORE

Just as the kids where merging from out camper trailer 'Easter Bunny' laid even MORE eggs out all around our camp!
fellow neighbours we so kind to gift us even MORE easter gifts! We could hardly believe the generosity!

This was not about the chocolate…. this was about people's willingness to love and gift in this way AND for our kids to see and experience that love, gifts etc can come from any direction if you're open to it!
Time is up!

A few chilly days fell over Easter and until we left that week, but as always we take these opportunities to light a fire and gaze, cook & poke :-)
