We journeyed from near Portland Victoria (Fitzroy River Camp Grounds) to Geelong, we had arranged to stay there for a week… but arrive a few days earlier, so in total we were there 10 days which worked out great as we had the chance to explore some things while I (tara) still ran my coaching business for a few hours a weeks.

How long has it been for you…?

We arrive in Geelong to stay at Surf Coast Holiday Park. And oh my god! they had showers LOL….. I asked the question on my Facebook page "how long do you think it's been since I've had a shower…?" That conversation was fun! Not only did they have showers but also En-suite sites… Our own personal toilet/shower block… I can't remember the last time I appreciated a shower so much! ;-)

BBQ dinner near the beach & Sand Doughnuts

Friday's are usually 'date nights' for Sam and I… this usually means that Sam and I take in turns each week to think of something special to do with each other (which usually involves the kids too, until they sleep). This week was my turn & I decided it would be beautiful and fun to head to the stunning Torquay beach for a BBQ, watch the sun set on the beach and get a DVD to watch for the night.

Yay it's Friday!!!
Zeus really appreciated the beach to run on, there is something so amazing about watching dogs run freely on the beach!

Charlotte had an innovating idea…. to make herself into a sand doughnut… First she went to the water with all her clothes on (as you do) and began to roll in the sand…. there you go… a SAND DOUGHNUT! Don't you just want to eat her all up!?
The great indoors

on saturday Sam decided that it would be fun to take the kids to an indoor play centre… but not just any ordinary play centre…. a magical themed play centre. We walked and play in Alice's Wonderland, Pirates & western playrooms. This was really well thought out! The way I saw it was an adults expression of their love of fantasy! ;-)
We did notice that our kids weren't fully involved like they would be if they were outside… So I think it's official… regardless of the weather our kids prefer to be outside, actually I KNOW that in particular when it rains, Tate is sure to be outside!

Letting go of un-structure

We let go of any routine, rituals or structure a while back…but now that I'm running a business of my own (around my family) and we are travelling full-time (which requires organisation) we have 'surrendered' to having some sort of, what I like to call 'Rhythm' to our lives. Part of this is Saturdays are now our 'pancakes' for breakfast day' (until we decide on something better). We had wholemeal pancakes stacked with honey & banana in between and a sprinkle of cacao nibs on top.
We would love to hear if you have 'ritual' days where to make an effort to do something with your family!????
